It looks like mod_perl is not installed by default in Redhat 9. httpd -l does not show mod_perl as a module & I get error message when I try to configure httpd.conf

So is there a distro with mod_perl installed? Centos perhaps?

All the distros are pretty stripped down to the linux basics. This is so you can decide what gets installed and used. You can just install mod_perl.
