after creating a slack-9.1 distro i found that the error logs were filling up the drive (3 900mb error log files!!!). further investigation showed that the error were created by the identd server not existing, while it was being called from inetd.
solution was either to edit inetd or to install the pident package from slackware.
would it be possible to add pident to the list of packages included in the configuration?
cheers
