| Any chance we'll see a fc3 distro soon? |

| I'm sure it'll make the list at some point, but I think caker would need significantly more time than 3 days to clean up an image for use on linode. I wouldn't want to rush him on it to come out with an unstable image that a good portion of new customers would be tempted to install and have problems with in the short future. |

I'll get to this soon. I'd imagine you'll be able to "yum upgrade" to FC3 fairly easily. Has anyone done the upgrade yet?
I've read the yum has been greatly improved. I wasn't that impressed with it in FC2, although it was better than the FC1 yum. It was slow, and a HUGE memory hog...

I used yum to upgrade FC2 to FC3 on another system (not linode) after modifying the yum.conf file to point to FC3... it took it a while to download from the mirrors (although I'm sure they were congested), but everything worked just fine on reboot.
Only thing I ran into is that it prettty much installs it side-by side to the existing installation, so there are *lots* of packages installed with both the FC2 version and the FC3, which will take me weeks to clean up.
I may not have used the right command options ("yum upgrade" instead of "update"), but I would be interested in a way to easily unistall the "obsolete" packages it left behind because of the method of upgrade. |

I used yum to upgrade to fedora core 3 from fedora core 2 on my linode, but login in vis ssh broke, and I still dont know how to fix it. The problem is that it hangs after entering a correct password with logging into your linode with the ssh command.
I do hope that a fedora core 3 distro option is available soon for out linodes. |
