Hello,
a month ago I reported a bug of host26, I writed some posts in this forum and I opened a support ticket.

Now, after a month, host26 is not working correctly and my support ticket haven't been answered. What can I do?? Between 10 am and 12 am (GTM +1), not all time, host 26 becomes VERY SLOW (now I'm trying to connect to ssh username@host26.linode.com and it do not responds).

I don't know what to do, I'm paying for a service and I dont happy with it. I lile Linode and I like this system to host my webpages and domains... but I don't like if I can't work between some hours.... I have some customers who are using my linode and they are not very happy.

Please! Do something to solve this problem!!!

Chris, send a personal message to me if you want to know my username. I've oppened a support ticket a month ago and nobody have answered it.

Thanks and enjoy the new year!

Alfons.

I've forgotten to say that when it runs correctly (the rest of the day), linode is fantastic and i love it!

Thanks.

Alfons,

You have a few choices:

1) You can wait until host kernel upgrades happen sometime this month, perhaps in the next two weeks. I expect the host kernel upgrades to provide a significant improvement during heavy disk contention.

2) I'd be happy to move you to another host and you can try your luck there. I think the biggest improvement you'd see would be to move from the Fremont datacenter to the Dallas datacenter onto one of the new and very quick host servers.

3) Upgrade your Linode to reduce the contention ratio.

Hello Chris,
I've tell you my choice to solve the problems with my host.

Something new about the change to a new host?

I'm saying it because the problems persist and is dificult to work with my linode between 10am-13am (GTM+1).

Thanks.

You should make sure to add your comments to your support ticket also. Your comments are more likely to be seen by caker in a support ticket than on this forum. Best wishes!

I'm finalizing a reboot schedule for a couple of hosts including host26, which I'll be announcing today. The new host kernel should provide relief for the contention issues. Stay tuned...

Chris,
Do you announce these just on the forums, or do you email schedules to account holder's email contact addresses?

Just asking since host26 hasn't been rebooted in a while and I don't remember the procedure.

John,

I had to push back the reboot by a few days -- now it's looking like Sunday evening. As far as making the announcement, I'll post in the "System and Network Status" forum as well as email everyone affected. I try to give no less than 48 hours notice, and I like to make sure there's a couple of work days beforehand so people can make notices to their users.
