Code: [root@host9 root]# uptime
18:33:57 up 1084 days, 1:33, 4 users, load average: 2.19, 2.19, 2.16
Unfortunately, host9 requires a reboot at this time. I'll be shutting down the Linodes gracefully, rebooting the host, and your Linode will restart automatically. Should be another 10 minutes or so. Updates in a bit.

Here is how I picture my grandchildren and their friends one day, grouped around a grumpy old Yours Truly in his old age:
(giggle giggle) Hey Grandpa, (snicker) tell us again
(smothered laugh) what a reboot was (bwaaa-ha-ha-ha)?

P.S In MY day, we had to wait *minutes* on the Ubuntu downloads... |

If Microsoft keep their monopoly going, and if remote attacks keep getting better then it'll be more "Grandpa... tell us the time when the server stayed up for 1000 days!" and the kids will listen with wide-eyed wonderment as stories from a magic era from the past are retold, and at the end "Grandpa... you're making it up!" |
