I made a second connection to my linode's console by mistake, and it didn't handle it gracefully (running round a loop trying to connect to the screen session already in use, if I remember correctly).

I know, I'm an idiot for doing it in the first place... but we all do stupid things from time to time :)

It actually tries 12 times to connect to the "screen" session of your console. This was to help people who connect, miss their Linode booting, and then have to re-connect and enter pw again, etc.

If that wasn't the case and it looked messed up let me know :-)

on that note, that explains why i have to detach (^a-d) the screen session 12 times to disconnect now.

Hah! .. I didn't think of that. I'll see if there is an exit code I can read from screen.
