It would be really nice to be able to automatically add Backup DNS Domain Zones to the DNS Manager from a node. Preferably with a auth method other than using the user/pass used to control the rest of the node. Maybe a random key that can be reset via the CP.
Would love to be able to do this with curl by hitting the url:
http://www.linode.com/api/adddomain.php?acct=kassah&key=848f38834300303&domain=kassah.net&master=192.168.0.1
(Fake key/IP, but you get the idea)
You could of course do this more elaborately and proboly better thought out, but that's the simple suggestion.
This has also been requested in the DNS Manager Beta Forums:
http://www.linode.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2769
Thanks,
Will

I would like to second the motion for some basic DNS Manager API functionality. It would be nice to have a basic dynamic DNS, mostly so I can manage my DNS at one place and still have access to my home network (over cable). The hosting company I'm moving from had this feature and it would be great to be able to continue to have it here.
Any possibility of this happening? |
