Hi all,
Please excuse my newbieness, but what happens if say, the drive on which my linode is hosted fails? Can I be assured that RAID or something would kick in and save the day? Is there any way I could lose my data irrecoverably?
Also, is there any way I can take snapshots/images of my linode setup, so if I make a change and mess something up, I can roll back?
Thanks,
Rob |

The HDs in each of the machines are mirrored, RAID 1. So if a single disk was to fail then the other one would still be there.
There is the chance that both hard drives could fail, it has been known to happen at time, when both drives have come from the same batch.
It would be your responsibility to ensure that you have a backup of your data.
At for the imaging of your linode, it has been mentioned to Chris in the past and he has noted that it may be of use but it would cut into your disk quota.
