No changes to .config over the linode23 kernel (.config is posted here) other than adding MPPE support.
Jeff's Changelog
Changelog highlights:
MPPE is now present in the UML config.
Fixed the klogd bug.
The real-time clock now uses gettimeofday rather than the tsc. This improves portability and provides better behavior in the presence of slowed or suspended CPUs.
Fixed a bug which sometimes caused a skas UML to die from a timer that it wasn't expecting.
How to Upgrade
See if you're already running 2.4.25-linode25-2um by viewing the output of "uname -a" inside your Linode. If not, follow this procedure:
 Log into the Linode Platform Manager (LPM)
 Configuration Profiles --> Click on your configuration profile
 Make sure the Kernel drop-down has "Latest 2.4 Series" selected and Save
 Reboot your Linode
Thanks and enjoy!

|
|
Hi,
I've got two linodes (on host11 and 17) and since I upgraded them into 2.4.25-linode25-2um they both where suddenly shut down twice. I've selected again 2.4.25-linode25-1um since I find out what is the cause of this issue.
Has anybody the same problem? |

Hi,
I had a problem during boot with the 2um kernel, which prevented the system from booting.
Had to switch back to the 1um kernel and all worked fine.
