Looks like ThePlanet is having router issues. This affects host1-8.
Will post when I have more details.

General connectivity is back, but TP is still having a routing issue to XO, where the Linode.com database is. Please don't poweroff or issue reboots until this is corrected.

geez at least stay down long enough for someone to complain next time!
my old hosting provider would always be courteous enough to go down during my business hours and make sure to stay off for at least 4 to 24 hours to make sure i noticed.
sometimes i wonder if this is even a legitimate hosting provider |

Intermittent connectivity problems again just now, affecting the whole datacentre.
Wonder what's going on :( |

There was a known issue that our network engineers worked to rectify. There will be an official write up released describing what exactly happened and what was done to remedy it shortly. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and I thank you for your patience.
Waiting for their "official report", but it's likely due to them bringing up additional connections:

TOPIC: Network Event Report
DATE: June 7, 2004
SUMMARY: The DLLSTX2 datacenter lost connectivity this afternoon for approximately 2 minutes as a result of problems with the DWDM fiber system connecting it to the DLLSTX3 datacenter. Planet engineers have isolated the problem as being related to water peak loss in the 1310-1350nm wavelengths across the dark fiber between the sites.
FUTURE MITIGATION: In order to prevent future issues, Planet engineering are currently working on a plan to move the Gig-E channels in the affected wavelengths to new channels in an alternate (non water-peak) wavelength on the system, and anticipates having this plan finalized shortly. Planet engineering will notify all customers if there is any anticipated downtime as a result of the repair work.
