33% Disk Space added to all Plans, Reduced Disk Space Cost
Disk Space Cost reduced
We've lowered the price of extra hard disk space to $2/month per GiB.
Standard plans now include:
Linode 100 w/ 4096 MB (4 GB)
Linode 150 w/ 6144 MB (6 GB)
Linode 200 w/ 8192 MB (8 GB)
Linode 300 w/ 12288 MB (12 GB)
Linode 400 w/ 16384 MB (16 GB)
Check the products page for more information.
Retro-active to all Existing Customers NOW
Existing customers should notice the disk space already allocated to their account.
Use the following list to determine how much space was added to your account:
Linode 100 - An additional 1024 MB (1 GB)
Linode 150 - An additional 1536 MB (1.5 GB)
Linode 200 - An additional 2048 MB (2 GB)
Linode 300 - An additional 3072 MB (3 GB)
Linode 400 - An additional 4096 MB (4 GB)
Annual Payments
Customers who pay annually also receive an additional 50% disk space on top of the new standard. Please fill out a support ticket if you'd like to switch to annual payments.
Instructions
To take advantage of the extra space, you have a choice of:
- Resizing your existing filesystem to occupy the new space
- Shutdown your Linode
- Members -> Disk Images -> Click on your root filesystem -> Enter in new size, and Save Changes
- Boot your Linode
- Creating new empty disk images
- Members -> Disk Images, scroll down to "Create an Empty Disk Image"
- Enter a label (for example: "disk2")
- Enter in the size (use the "Storage Summary" box in the upper-right corner)
- Choose "ext3" for filesystem type, and Create Disk
- Members -> Configurations -> Click on your config
- Add your new "disk2" to an open /dev/ubd? slot. Save
- Reboot your Linode
- Log into your Linode, and as root: "mount /dev/ubd[insert device letter here] /path/to/mountpoint" where path/to/mountpoint is an existing directory
- Deploying more Linux Installations
- Why, just use the Distro Wizard! Experiment with a new distro or something

Thank you for your business! Enjoy!

maybe i'm going crazy... but didn't linode 100's already have 4096mb? if so i'm confused as to how we gained 1024mb.
regardless.. i love my linode. can't say it every day, but there are a lot of times when it comes in very handy, and for $20 a month, it can't be beat!
happy new year! _________________ http://www.knehcsa.com |

I have a Linode 100 myself, and I haven't yet made use of the recent upgrade. But yes, it did already have 4096 MB, but only if you were paying annually. Meaning, if you're paying annually for a Linode 100, judging by my calculations, you'd end up with a total of 6144 MB of disk space. |

| So now I've been moved from host10 to a faster host and I've been given extra disk space all in one go and all for free. This reminds me yet again why I have always chosen subconsciously not to move away despite other providers marketing Xen VMs. Thank you Caker. I was just beginning to approach my last 25% of disk space. |
