How do I upgrade from Debian 8 to 9?

I need to upgrade my servers from Debian 8 to Debian 9. Linode hasn't published a paper on how to do this but I discovered an older paper Upgrading to Debian 8 (Jessie). Can I just follow the instructions in this older paper but subsitute "jessie" with "stretch" wherever it appears? Has anyone else gone through this process? Thanks for your response!

I went through the process from 8 to 9 for a Webserver, but due to having issues, I ended up spinning up a new instance and transferring things over instead.

I don’t remember the exact details, but I know you have to change the repo names to the Debian 9 repo name and run the upgrade command.
