I have 2FA enabled and I’ve lost my scratch code. Now I can't log in.

I have Two Factor authentication enabled on my account, I'm unable to log in and have lost access to my token application. I've also lost my secret key. How can I regain access to my account?

This is a question we get from time to time. If you're completely locked out of your account and have Two-Factor Authentication enabled you'll need to reach out to our support team at support@linode.com and provide the following:

  • Photo/scan (front and back) of your credit card on file. We also accept a screenshots of virtual cards. Please be sure to hide all but the name and the last 6 digits.

  • Photo/scan (front and back) of your government-issued photo ID

Once we have this information, we can begin to work towards helping you regaining access to your account.

Linode has updated its policy and you can also send the requested documents using our Credential Submission portal. Be sure to place a 0 in the ticket number field, if you don't already have an existing ticket.
