MySQL Error: [Warning] IP address 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' could not be resolved: Name or service not known

I am suddenly getting this error in my MySQL logs:

[Warning] IP address '192.168.x.x' could not be resolved: Name or service not known
[Warning] IP address '192.168.x.x' could not be resolved: Name or service not known

I am not able to connect to my application servers due to the above error.

What does this mean and what can I do about it?
