Any schedule for EFI based booting/VMs instead of GRUB?

Now that most, if not all, of us are on the KVM-based systems, is there any schedule on switching to EFI instead of old-school BIOS/GRUB?

+1 Would be really cool to have it! Anybody knows if it's coming?

Particularly since EFI booting is immune to a class of screwups where the grub loader gets out of sync with grub files in /boot. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1889509
