Linode users can now sign in to Cloud Manager using their GitHub accounts

We’re making it even easier for developers to connect to Linode and give you one less password to remember. Linode users can now sign-in or sign-up using their GitHub accounts.

As part of our mission to make cloud computing simpler and more accessible, we’re working on integrations like these to help create more efficient processes. Using services like GitHub to sign-in to other platforms such as Cloud Manager simplifies critical account and tool management for Linode customers.

Authorizing third-party authentication of your GitHub account takes just a few steps:

Connect Your Existing Linode Account

  • Visit Password and Authentication settings in Cloud Manager
  • Select the “Third-Party Authentication” tab and then select GitHub
  • On the pop-up, select “Go to GitHub” to authenticate your settings
  • You will receive an authentication email from Linode

Sign-Up Using GitHub

  • Sign-Up for a Linode Account
  • Select GitHub under “Sign up using another provider.”
  • On the pop-up, select “Go to GitHub” to authenticate your settings
  • You will receive an authentication email from Linode

We’re evaluating other authentication partners to help streamline the process for our customers. Stay tuned to our blog and social media for updates!

Thanks for adding this. Is WebAuthn security key support on the roadmap? Google, Github, Facebook, Dropbox, Gandi, AWS, and others (https://www.dongleauth.info/) support it for two-factor authentication that’s much more resistant to phishing than one time codes.
