updating files uploaded with scp

I uploaded my files using scp and would like to update them to add more functionality I have added in the files on my local machine. how do I go about it without disrupting my site?

Basically, you would upload them with scp(1) again…the way you did before. The destination will get overwritten (!!!!!!! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!). If the destination files are important to you, you should save copies first.

If you're going to do this frequently, you should write a shell script…or use a version-control system that will allow you to do this easily (like git(1))…
