Two Distro, Two IP, one Linode

Hey all,

I am looking on how to set this up.

I got one linode with an additional IP set up. Now I got a site up on one IP already and would like set up another distro on the same Linode, but with a different ip. So the configuration is to have two distro in one linode but with different ip.

Is there anywhere u guys can direct me to read about this?

Is there a question like this before where I can read on this forum?

I am new to *nixs and VPS so I have no idea what to search on the forum.

Please help!

You can't run two distros (nor two instances of the same distro) at the same time on the same Linode. In order to boot the second distro, you have to shut down the first. Think of it as dual-booting your home computer. You have to shut down one OS in order to boot the other one.

What you described, therefore, seems impossible. Whichever distro is currently running will have both of your IP's assigned to it.

If you want to run two distros at the same time, you'll need to get two Linodes.
