Mailman

So mailman is all setup and everything, but when I go to send emails to my mailing lists, they don't get through, I don't even see a record that they got anywhere at all. Solutions? (might be an obvious answer, but I can't get it right now)

EDIT: on Ubuntu 10.04

What MTA (postfix, exim, sendmail, etc.) are you using? What appears in its logs when you try to mail the lists?

Edit: also, does anything appear in the Mailman logs? (Probably found under /var/log/mailman/)

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Technical details of permanent failure:

[lists.[site].org (1): Connection dropped]

replace [site] with the domain name.

There is a lot of stuff in the log folder.

So I think it's my MX records that are messed up, but I can't figure what it needs to be set to.

It appears that Google is having difficulty reaching a mail server at lists.[site].org. This could be a DNS problem, firewall problem, mail server problem, or some other problem. You can check yourself with telnet lists.[site].org 25 - the error you receive may be useful. (If you get a welcome banner instead, typing QUIT should end the session.) Without knowing the specific domain/host information, there's not much we can do to help you track down the specific cause.
