Why do KVM upgrade?
Xen Host Maintenance?
For me, Resources affected:
* vCPUs go from 8 vCPUs → 2 vCPUs
doesn't seem like a compelling reason…

Depending on your workload, you may find performance under KVM to be better:
You can spin up a new KVM instance and try it out if you want a direct comparison.
