Why do KVM upgrade?

just thinking "out loud"… why do I want to upgrade from Xen to KVM other than avoid

Xen Host Maintenance?

For me, Resources affected:
* vCPUs go from 8 vCPUs → 2 vCPUs

doesn't seem like a compelling reason… :?

You will have to migrate eventually. It may make more sense to do this on your schedule rather than Linode's.

Depending on your workload, you may find performance under KVM to be better: https://forum.linode.com/search.php?keywords=kvm+performance&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=1000&t=0&submit=Search

You can spin up a new KVM instance and try it out if you want a direct comparison.
