NETIM-registered domain fails zone check with Linode nameservers

Hello

I've registered a domain with NETIM - which was then passed on to ISNIC, as I registered a .is domain - and set up the DNS nameservers to be the Linode ones (ns1.linode.com, ns2.linode.com, ns3.linode.com, ns4.linode.com, ns5.linode.com). I've also set up the connections to my domain through the Linode DNS Manager.

I then received this error on my account:

E12-M1215 Operation can't be performed - Zonecheck failed

At this time, and according to the technical requirements of the registry, the above nameservers are not ready to host the new domain name.

What does this mean, and how can I fix this?

ISNIC is kind of an odd one. They require the names servers be registered with them. See here: https://www.isnic.is/en/faq#q49

Perhaps Linode can do this on your behalf (ask in a ticket if no one picksup here), You can run your own BIND, or, I heard success using this free DNS service (might be my last choice of the three)(there are others. I am just aware of this one at the top of my head) https://1984.is/product/freedns/ [Do your due diligence as always]

Most optimal solution is to see if Linode is willing to register the nameservers with ISNIC. There may be technical or security reasons they are considering so I cannot predict an answer. Definitely worth an ask.
