Slow TTFB due to SSL using LetsEncrypt, any tips?

Hi,

I'm running a single site on a 2GB Linode. The site performs beautifully, but for a slow TTFB. A test on Byte Check indicates that SSL is to blame - it takes in the region of 500ms, sometimes up to 700+ms. Does anyone have any tips on how I can improve this? I'm using a LetsEncrypt certificate installed using Certbot.

Many thanks!

I've since tested using the Sucuri Load Time Tester and found that my TTFB is as low as 0.017s depending on geographical location, so I guess there's not a lot else I can do.
