How do I update a 1&1 SSL certificate on Ubuntu 16.04?

My SSL certificate is expired, so I've renewed it from 1&1. I downloaded the new SSL cert, but I don't know how to install the updated one my server. How can I do this?

I found an excellent guide on 1&1's website that goes over the process of installing their SSL certificate on Ubuntu 16.04.
I would recommend starting from the beginning of their guide and going through each step to make sure you successfully install the certificate correctly.
