What and where do I find my localhost login
So when I boot up my server I get the message: root @ localhost 'localhost login:' then I put in my details and it says it's incorrect, I believe i'm putting in other details and I don't know where or what to do/find my localhost login. I searched the internet and that did not help. Thanks - FreddyPB

The localhost login is usually the root username and password that you configured during the Linode deployment process. User accounts are stored in the /etc/passwd file whiles passwords are stored in /etc/shadow. Passwords in this file are encrypted and accessible only to the root user, preventing unauthorized users or malicious actors from breaking into the system.
Follow the steps below to reset your Linodes root password:
1) Power off your Linode
2) Go to your Linode's Settings tab
3) Under Settings, click on Reset Root Password to expand that panel
4) Select your primary disk from the Disk dropdown menu
5) Enter a new password for the root user in the Password field
6) Click Save
7) Return to the Linode’s Summary tab
8) Power on your Linode
After powering on your Linode, connect either through the Lish Console or SSH, and at the login prompt type root as the username and hit enter. Next, type the new password you just created and you should be logged in.
You can these instructions in our Reset the Root Password on your Linode guide. I hope this helps.
