I'm getting a Not Secure Error on sub-domain url

I created a sub-domain under my main website.
I added a c-name record to the DNS settings of the main website URL (which is located at GoDaddy)
I then ran the AutoSSL - I got the green lock and it says:
AutoSSL Domain Validated
Expires on October 2, 2022 the certificate will auto renew via AutoSSL

The website has nothing in it yet and it will be a WordPress site.
But when I key in the url … it keeps giving me a "not secure" error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm no DNS expert but I think your problem is the CNAME record… I do this exact same thing but I use A/AAAA records. I have A/AAAA records for

  • example.com (my "root" domain name); and
  • foo (which creates the subdomain foo.example.com).

I have a Let's Encrypt cert for the root domain name. It all works as it should…

Your cert is only for the root domain name. A CNAME record creates an "alias" for the root domain name. See:

https://support.dnsimple.com/articles/cname-record/

Your cert doesn't apply to the alias.

I am also getting a Not Secure Error on the sub-domain URL and I want to get rid of it. I am glad I found my answer here. I also found https://youressayreviews.com/is-edubirdie-legit/ website where I found my other question answer.
