new linode, missing network

i just provisioned a linode (debian).

however, the following are true:

– the "network information" section of my profile only has netmask/gw info

-- my linode has no "eth0" device

-- rebooting the linode doesnt' help

-- executing any of the ifconfig or /etc/init.d/network* commands fail since there is no eth0

-- /proc/modules is non-existant

so either i'm missing something, or the provisioning process is broken.

anyone have a clue?

It was a blunder on my part. Your host ran out of available IP addresses, even though it was showing one free.

Your Linode has an IP now. Just reboot and you should be set. Sorry!

Thanks,
