Server Administrator - casual

We're seeking an experienced Server Administrator to manage our 3 websites on Linode.

The purpose of this role is to:

  • ensure all websites are running at optimal performance;

  • be alerted immediately if sites are down and investigate and fix quickly (SLA to be agreed);

  • set up colocation to ensure our chances of being offline are minimised;

  • run auto back-ups;

  • manage data protection.

Experience essential to put best server admin practises into place. All 3 websites are currently on Linode.

Look forward to your interest or recommendations.

Linode has it's backup service already, though it doesn't hurt to have someone keep backs anyway :-)

There are programs like monit that can monitor specified processes, attempt to restart them, and email your admin if the restart doesn't succeed.

I've no suggestions for the other items, and I doubt I'd have enough experience to help with the others :)
