deploying asterisk and freepbx on my linode.

Hey all;

Due to major changes I've needed to quickly deploy my second linode and crank up asterisk and possibly freepbx. (we'll say yes to freepbx because I lost access to the hardcoded conf files as the x-employee restored the servers without making sure I had everything. so time to rewrite everything anyhow).

The linode library article I attempted to follow was out of date, so I chatted with linode support, and they pointed me to

http://blog.keer.info/install-asterisk- … -wheezy-7/">http://blog.keer.info/install-asterisk-and-freepbx-on-debian-wheezy-7/

ok, great article, theoretically. But I can't compile dahdi, etc. and even if I don't need it, it'd be nice to have now, for expansion later, preventing a recompile down the road.

Has anyone successfully got asterisk and freepbx up and runnning on linode with a later deploy of debian, ubuntu, or centos?

If so, can you provide instructions?

Thanks.

Shane
