Will inodes increase automatically when i upgrade my linode?

Hello all, I currently have a Linode 2GB, and it has approx 3M inodes…I'm planning to upgrade the linode to a 4GB and move an inode-heavy site onto it.

Will upgrading to the 4GB linode (which has double the storage) automatically double the # of available inodes ?

We don't arbitrate inodes: they're a property of your filesystem. Assuming you're using ext3 or 4 (the old and new defaults), resizing the disk image to a larger size will increase the number of inodes.
