Either the host node are setup differently to manage performance or Linode is just using better hardware hands down….This can also play out opteron (slicehost) vs xeon (linode)….

Thanks for the post Ross. I'd just like to add that the host your Linode is on has 36 other Linodes on it, some of them are pretty active too. Amazing.

Nice to see, I was doubting about going to Slicehost first but I found out about linode before it was too late. Also I didn't have the money to pay in advance for 3 months at the moment I started with my VPS, but I'm still happy here! :)

same here… and as such signed up for linode that evening and got a pro-rated account for $15 that first month.
