Unable to watch BBC iPlayer on Linode via VPN

Hi, I have quite a few clients who connect to my server for work via OpenVPN.

However, recently, I've noticed that iPlayer appears to be blocked. The BBC appear to have gone super savvy and detect VPNs and therefore deny access as they cannot confirm correct IP geolocalisation.

Their website says this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/help/in_the_uk_message

My Linode is of course in the London datacentre and shows up as a London-based IP with Linode as the ISP.

Is there something we can do about this?

Any more thoughts on this? I guess I'm asking for a workaround which probably doesn't exist.

@Woet, thanks but that doesn't really help!

Hi

Have you tried Wireguard with TLS tunnelling?

Cheers

Just wanted to second the Wireguard with TLS tunnelling as a potential solution here.

There is a YouTube video here that talks more about the solution:

Wireguard in Linode's App Marketplace:

Hope that helps!
