How to prevent backup restores from booting automatically?

Linode Staff

I'd like to restore from a backup image to a new Linode. However, since there are a lot of cron jobs on that Linode, I don't want it to run after it's restored because that could have undesired side effects.

I'd like to keep it in "shutdown" mode during the whole process, until I manually boot it myself. How do I do that?

Your backup restores remain powered off until you manually boot them, and it looks like there is no API parameter to override that behavior, so you're all set!
