Cloning block storage

It seems that cloning a block storage volume only clones the configuration, not the data. I'd like to clone a volume where the data is copied to the new volume. Is there an easy way to do this?

I can't see how to delete this post. I tried initially while the machine was on, and the data didn't copy; once I shut the machines down, deleted the first unsuccessful clone and tried again the data was copied over.

Only the Linode moderators have that awesome power… You can file a support ticket and ask one of them to delete the post. That's the way I've always done it.
