How do I update the contact email address for my domain name?

The SOA record is what lists the contact email address for the person responsible for the domain. If the domain zone is served by Linode's namservers, you can update this via the DNS Manager. On the right-hand side of the SOA table, click Settings to update the address in the SOA email field. It may take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to propagate through the Internet, but you can help speed things up by setting the TTL value to the lowest setting of 300 (5 minutes). When finished click Save Changes at the bottom of the page and you're all set!

In addition, you can add four different sets of contact information at the registrar level. Each registrar has a different admin panel but the process is generally the same. Seek instruction from your domain registrar for the exact steps.

In the newer Cloud Manager, you'll click the 3 dots (…) on the right side of the SOA Record section, then click "Edit". There, you can update the information in your domain's SOA record, including your email address.
