Why didn't my Linode's disk resize when I updated my plan?

Linode Staff

I accepted the free upgrade for my Linode's plan, and afterward, df -h still shows that the disk is the same size. What happened?

When upgrading your Linode's plan, more storage will become available for use, but the system does not make any assumptions as to how you wish to use that storage. For example, you could grow your existing disk to fit the new allocation, or you could create a second disk to use with your Linode. I've included our guide on resizing a disk to help you through the rest of the process.
