You’re still charged your normal hourly rate.

Delete the Linode if you are not using it.

This is a great question!

@LouWestin is correct. Because our servers are still allocating resources such as RAM and hard drive space while your Linode is powered down, you will still be billed for that Linode and any attached services (Longview Pro, Linode Backup Service, etc.).

Per @OpenSpeedtest, if you decide that you don't need the Linode anymore, you can delete it using our Cloud Manager. Keep in mind that this will also remove any backups associated with that particular Linode.
