Grub2 and Linode security

Hi There, I am new to Linux security and I ran an audit with Lynis. It tells me to setup Grub2 password. However, after reading about Grub2, it can be an issue if someone physically can boot your system.

So here is my question:

Since it is a VPS do I really need to set a password for my grub2 ?
How can I do that on my linode?

Many thanks

Henrik

You can ignore setting up Grub2 password for VM. Vm can boot/reboot regardless of host system which stays on for a long time. Grub2 password is a good choice for physical host but not for VM as you need to enter password manually. There is another issue, your VM disk is not encrypted too. So password protecting Grub 2 won't do anything else.
