Unable to access Linode: General Protection Fault

Linode Staff

We are unable to access our Linode and are seeing the following errors in our bootlogs

[5055134.508872] general protection fault: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP NOPTI

What are the best recommendation for restoring connectivity?

Generally speaking a general protection fault is a type of interrupt initiated by a system protection mechanism responding to an access violation caused by some running code. In this case it seems to be an unrepeatable bug acknowledged by Linus Torvalds.

A system reboot is likely to assist in resolving this bug and restoring connectivity.
