There are probably packages for your distro ready to install so check with your package manager first (apt, rpm/dnf, yum, etc).
Pay particular attention to the content under the tab labeled Documentation…
DANGER WILL ROBINSON! If you are trying to port M$ Windoze software to Linux using Mono, you need to be very careful. Linux is not Windoze…and there are subtle differences between Mono and .NET.
