how do i make myself an admin?

I just bought a minecraft server and I can log into it but I don't know how to make myself an admin.

You'll want to add ops privileges to your user. We have another post on our Community Questions site that covers a few ways that this can be done.

I read all of it and tried it but there was no part that actually said how to make myself an admin.
