What happens if a migration fails?

We're looking to migrate a server between data centers.

It's the first time we've done this and are slightly nervous. What happens if the migration fails?

Is the old server still there, or are backups retained, until we're happy the new server is up and running?

Hi @RedEvo - If a migration fails the original disks are kept on the original host and the migration can be configured to run again. If you see this happen, just open a ticket to let us know and we'll be happy to help out.

If you see a migration fail due to a clone or deploying from a saved disk, you can delete the new Linode and try the process again.
