CDN Fastly round robin or quick latency IP based?

does Fastly operate round robin or does it use the nearest IP address for a request, as does Amazon's CDN service? Is there any other service besides Amazon that does this?

Fastly's load balancers have round robin capabilities however, it's unclear from the Product Page how their edge network operates.

I suggest creating a post on their Community Site to see if someone with more knowledge of the product can help you out there.
