Scheduled Maintenance piece of cake.

The maintenance tonight was fast (17min) and no problems encountered. One service didn't start, but that was because I didn't have it activated to start. Fixed that.

It is funny, but yesterday one of my Reseller hosting account notified me 1.5 hours before dropping the server for a "planned" outage.

Linode gave a 7 day notice.. I'm sure they can't always do that, but I was impressed.

I would take a closer look at the contract/agreement for the "other" provider. Many of them play with words in such a way that a "planned" outage does not go against their QOS/uptime statistics or guarentees or is treated differently….
