You can use any of our available distributions to follow this guide. If you are new to Linux I'd recommend using Ubuntu 16.04. Ubuntu is very user friendly and has a great online community, so it will be easy to find help if you get stuck anywhere along the way. You can follow this guide below to set up your first Linode:
