Fees for accidentally adding a volume

Hello,

I did something stupid.

I was mucking around with adding a new volume and decided to add a 2000 GB volume just to see what happens and how to do it. I didn't intend to use it, I was just curious. A few minutes later I deleted it.

I'm kind of hungover and it escaped my mind at the time that this might cost me money; there were no purchase pages or price lists or anything warning you that it would cost money.

So some googling later I found out that block storage costs about $200/mo for 2TB.

Am I going to get this on my bill next month? If so can the excellent support staff here at Linode pretty please waive this one time? Sorry I didn't actually want the block-storage service yet, it was just an accident!

Thanks

Contact the support staff through a support ticket if you haven't already done so.

Hi there,

Based on your description of what happened, and since you have already removed the service, I can confirm that your account would be charged a prorated amount for the Block Storage[1] volume.

I'm going to link you with the Linode Billing and Payments[2] document; this has a fairly thorough breakdown of how billing works and will most likely be a good reference for you in the future.

With that being said, while you're nursing that hangover, feel free to open a Support ticket through your Linode Manager. Our Support team will be happy to review your account and discuss this further with you.

Ok sorry, yes the support tickets were probably more appropriate. So after hourly billing this looks like less than a dollar, won't bother.

Thanks guys!
