My site is only visible to half the internet over ipv6

I have a single-site Linode set up with ipv6 and domain hosting from Linode as well. Everything seems to be running fine, except when I test the site with a global ipv6 ping tester like uptrends I get a bunch of errors. It seems you can connect to my site just fine from Tampa or Seattle, but trying from New York or Los Angeles gives "Request timed out"

Worldwide ping seems fine over ipv4.

What could be causing this?

Hi @procyon - I'm not sure what's causing it but I can suggest a way to find out. I'd recommend running an MTR report to see if there's a problem with the route the connection is taking. There's another Community Questions site post with more info:

Be sure to use the -6 flag, along with any others, to run the test over IPv6. If you see anything out of the ordinary, try running the test in the other direction as well. Feel free to send the results our way in a ticket if you'd like and myself or another member of the Support team would be happy to review them with you.

Following up in case anyone else has similar issues.

I filed a support ticket and the cause was eventually tracked to a bad router. The Linode NetOps team performed emergency maintenance and now everything looks good.
