Installing the Kali Everything Package
When I login to my Linode after using the Kali Linux Marketplace App, it shows that this is a minimal installation even though I selected the Kali Everything Package:
┏━(Message from Kali developers) ┃ ┃ This is a minimal installation of Kali Linux, you likely ┃ want to install supplementary tools. Learn how: ┃ ⇒ https://www.kali.org/docs/troubleshooting/common-minimum-setup/ ┃ ┗━(Run: “touch ~/.hushlogin” to hide this message)
Marketplace Apps are scripts that run the first time your Linode Compute Instance is booted to assist with setting up a configuration. If you login to the server right away, it is likely the installation has not yet finished. The Kali Linux App starts with the minimal Kali image and installs the everything package in the background if you have selected it. It will take about 45 minutes to an hour for the installation to complete.
Please note: A 1 GB Nanode plan will not have enough disk space to handle the everything package. We recommend a 4GB Dedicated CPU or Shared Compute Instance.
Here is our guide for the installation of the Kali Linux Marketplace App:
You can follow along with the installation by running this command:
