Linode Wiki

Jan 3, 2005
by Christopher Aker
Hello, I’ve had a few requests about a user-managed Wiki for Linode, so here it is: https://www.linode.com/wiki/ The Linode Wiki is still in its infancy right now, but I’m hoping with your contributions it will become a good resource for Linode users and possibly take the place of the dated FAQ off the Support page. Updated Support Ticket back-end

Nov 21, 2004
by Christopher Aker
Recently I’ve received some legitimate complaints that tickets weren’t being updated in a timely manner. I’ve just pushed up some changes to the way tickets are handled on the back end. Retrieve Your Log in Information

Nov 14, 2004
by Christopher Aker
I’ve deploy a new feature that enables you to retrieve a lost username or lost password. This will NOT work for accounts until they are activated… […]

by Christopher Aker
The CentOS images (both the old and the recently updated version) have a world-writable /etc/shadow file. This image was in fact built from scratch and was not online at any point. I can only account this towards a mis-configuration of some kind when I built the image. If you’ve deployed CentOS, please perform this as […]

Fedora updated to Fedora Core 2 (FC2)

Sep 14, 2004
by Christopher Aker
I’ve updated the Fedora distro for Fedora Core 2. The minimum size increased a little bit to 630MB. If you plan on using this with a 2.6 kernel, make sure to “mv /lib/tls /lib/tls-disabled” until UML fully supports NPTL. -Chris
